Kei, male, age 35, owner of a flower shop in a little city in Japan. He was also known by the people who are close to him as Takagi Akito.

Akito’s father, a Italian man who came to Japan for work, met Akito’s mother who was working in a club. He fell in love with her the second his eyes met hers. After a year, they got married and they stayed in Tokyo. Unfortunately, a year after Akito was born, his dad died in a accident, leaving the poor woman with their son. However, she was a very strong woman, and she managed to work her ass off to feed Akito.

Years have passed; Akito’s life hadn’t been very great: Because of the fact he had half Italian blood inside him and the genetics played on him by giving him blue eyes, he often gets picked on by boys at school. They call him “prostitute’s boy with no dad.” since his mom works in a bar and it went off as an understanding to the others. Moreover, Akito was already very tall for his age due to his european blood, and it got him into troubles even more. Very often the picking and sneering gets too far, and they result in fighting. It was often many against one, and he gets beat up pretty badly. Young Akito was always covered in bruises, but he didn’t want to burden his mom even more, so he kept to himself. He tried his best to hide his eyes with his bangs but it was almost as if it was no use. At least it cut off eye contact.

When Akito was 17, on a rainy day (CHEESY WTF), he got a call from the bar where his mom worked. She got stabbed during a fight between costumers and bled to her death. Akito became lost, and didn’t go back to class. Instead he went back on the streets, wandering around. He bumped into a group of delinquents of his school who were slacking off in an ally and they started a fight. Akito didn’t fight back, he just laid there motionless. Nothing really matters anymore; he felt he’d just be better off dead.

Suddenly, all the delinquents went away. Akito lift his head up, only to get in contact with a warm scarf. He jerked up, and saw a group of yakuza-looking people. Confused and hurt all over, he was shaking from pain and cold until he felt he got lifted off the ground, carried bridal style. Akito flushed at the gesture, and managed to take a look at the person who apparently rescued him. It was a man, about 25 years of age. The man smiled at Akito, and he heard the tall guy’s voice. “Are you ok? What’s your name kid?” The voice was very energetic yet soothing. “A-Akito….” “Ohh! Nice to meet you, my name is…”

“…… Kuroyama Kei……”

DUN DUN DUN DUN CHEESY PART
It was the first time Akito felt warmness inside his heart beside his mother. It turns out that Kei guy was the young leader of the Kuroyama group (I made this shit up ok), and he happened to witness the fight when they were checking on their business. After being taken care of by Kei, Akito slowly gained health, and hearing the situation the boy was in, Kei decided to take Akito under his wings. Akito didn’t mind. He had nothing to lose after all. Plus, he looked up to Kei, who was a confident and charming man, so he accepted. He started to receive kendo and martial art trainings, while having a private tutor for all the things he didn’t manage to get at school. He quickly became a master in the arts and studies.

During the following year, Kei started to notice more and more of this boy he picked up from the streets. Akito was rather quiet, despite the fact that his environment changed to a way better one. Though his shy nature slipped out more and more. He will blush at the slightest tease from the yakuza members, resulting in a stutter of words and helpless gesturing of hands. Kei just thought he was more and more adorable, and the feeling was rising up by the day. He wanted to protect the boy’s heart, body, life, his beautiful blue eyes and that genuine smile of his. Little did he know, Akito felt the same towards him. He wanted to be able to smile out to people, to be able to express how he felt and be confident. Kei was also the first person in a long time to show care for Akito. The feeling remained hidden, until one day, when Kei’s gang all went to the public bath. The members made jokes about how Akito looked so cute (and somehow), da boss was unable to contain his feelz and confessed to Akito. (lmfao wth am I writing).

The story continues. Kei and Akito were very loving of each other. They took care and looked out for each other, being the perfect partner everywhere. Akito even cut his bangs, revealing his blue eyes because Kei said that he wanted to see them more. He also felt more confident after he did that. Akito was happy. The members were like his family, and Kei was the one who understood him. But, happiness don’t always last. When Akito was 27, in a surprise attack of people who tired to kill off the leader of Kuroyama group, Kei was shot to death while trying to protect Akito. Many other members were killed too, but they somehow managed to scrap through. Akito, who couldn’t take on the death of so many people he cherished, succumbed to a violent fit of drinking night and day. He thought he was usless, not being able to protect his loved-ones. The oldest member of the group, who was Kei’s brother, took over for Kei and the group managed to stay stronger than ever. Many tried to cheer Akito up, but he just didn’t listen.

But one day, he suddenly announced that he will leave Tokyo and the group. Shockingly, but the members understood. (this is so weird and unreasonable) With help from the Kuroyama group he got a bit of money and he left for a small city in Japan. The only things he took with him was the scarf his late loved one wrapped on him when they first met, and his name: He now refers to himself as “Kei” in the new environment. He did not have a last name, everyone just called him Kei. He was known for his nice flowers and his shy smile. He appeared to be scary at first sight due to the fact he didn't bother to take care of his hair, but once they started talking, he's actually a very gentle man. Aging brought that side of him out, taking away the recklessness of youth. (The reason why he decided to go into the flower business was because of his interest in them when he was back at the Kuroyama household. Which plant worked which way was highly appealing to him.)

Akito, now Kei, tried his best to forget all his past, and transformed himself bit by bit into how he is now. He even grew his bangs out to hide his eyes again. But he couldn’t throw it away at all. His conscious didn’t permit him to do so. He was torn with the lack of that warmness inside him. After a few months, one of Kei’s closest friends back at yakuza, Shin, left the group to join him in the small city. He knew Kei well enough to guess what he needed, but he could only provide one of them. Shin opened a bar near the flower shop, and invites Kei there, hoping he might find a new love. If not, maybe temporary physical fillers. He himself had feelings hidden for Kei, but he couldn’t confess. Staying beside him was enough like this, since he promised in front of the late Kei’s grave that he will protect the other man as long as he should live.

In the end, Kei accepted the invite. He goes to the bar at least 3 times a week, finding people to pass the night, hoping that he might get some comfort. But everything was superficial; no one could understand him as well as the real Kei. All he could do was to drown himself in alcohol and gain the courage to forget about reality for a night. His partners all sensed a weird eagerness in his drunk self. But when the bartender, which Is Shin, was questioned, he simply replied that Kei was a man with a past. The one-nighters stopped asking. Kei kinda became a mystery. All the men who went to the bar was intrigued by him, by the way he is when he gets drunk. That side people won’t usually expect out of a florist. Even some straight people were interested in him, but no one ever managed to open his heart.
