Soon as I saw the title the song was immediately playing in my head, oh my. The raging sea behind Ragnar is amazing, and I love how you did his hair, including his beard. It's very realistic. The crow behind him is also great, and the blur for suggesting movement is a wonderful addition.. it also keeps the focus on Ragnar. If I have any critizism, it's just that the shading on the face and his eye doesn't look quite in place because it looks very smudged and soft, which the rest of the piece is very well contrasted, like the hairs on his face, or the different colors in the ocean. Even still, it's very well put together piece and I can't seem to pick a favorite element in it.. even the lightning is spot on.

I found you initially on youtube through your process paintings. I commented on this video, asking you to check out my page and maybe submit to a few questions or something. Just wanted to say, I love your work! You have some awesome style and the techniques you use are really helpful to me personally. I haven't quite demonstrated the knowledge in use yet but I will. Thanks!

Thanks so much! I checked out your gallery and am very impressed! The face on "MelPaintFinal" is beautiful. Very realistic.
I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have as best as I can.

That sounds great! Thanks for taking the time to look at my work, I really appreciate it! I guess I can write up some questions or something and send you a note, unless there's an easier way for you? Either way, I'll start organizing my thoughts so you wont have to sift through any garbage to get to my point haha. As far as MelPaintFinal is concerned, I'm sure its apparent that I spent all my time working on the face and when it got down to everything else, I kinda rushed it to be done with the thing. I generally refuse to submit something that I'm not 100% happy with (I know I know, impossible), but in this case, I was really starting to dislike the process and I wanted to move on to a piece that I wouldn't have a problem messing around with a bit more...I think if I had a better understanding of how to achieve certain effects without color-choosing each pixel, Id have an easier time of it. But that's why your tutorials have been so helpful. I just need to start applying each lesson to its own study, to solidify the idea for use in my paintings...
