Yes that does look like one head lamp. That is also one lamp hanging from the side of it too. As for a wooden frame ? Why not? Wood was used to hold together body parts or the inner frame work of the bodies. As for a race car back in the day, They would do what ever they had too to make the car lighter. Just as they did for the vintage air craft of it's time. oak, ash, birch, etc. So maybe it is wood.
