if by "not as well as you thought" you're referring to the soft focus, it's just a different effect than a sharper focus would have, but I think it works well with the intimacy of the moment captured and it makes it look more sketch-like. very pretty.

I really like this pic, its got a lot of strengths. Besides my love for B&W, the lighting is excellent as its the pose, the sheet and the mood/atmosphere that your portraying.
I love the blur, it helps to define the moment. It seems to me that we're getting a glimps on someone's private thoughts while they're alone. This brief moment of time seems endless in that we can relate to her quiet relfection, yet it will probably end in an instant when she stands adn the mood is broken.

This is more like what i was referring to in your journal and such. I think the focus is what kills it, otherwise i think the contrast and lighting and framing work well.
