Commission for"She wanted to find a way to become a mermaid permanently so she could be with her merman lover. But her merman told her to wait, that he would find a way to become human permanently. But she went ahead and found way to become a mermaid. She looked for her merman lover but could not find him, until she was given a message from a trusted friend. Her merman love did find a way to become human and now she drifts with the currents..."

That sounds like the storry of the man who sold his watch to buy his lover a silver hair brush, but the lover sold her hair to buy the man a watchband. I am picky about th manga/anime drawings I like, but this one is phenomenal. I hope you draw more like this one. Maybe one of the man and mermaid together, holding onto each other, wishing that they could be with the other?

Great composition and color use. Good render. Lovely lighting effects. Her hands though seem kinda stiff to me.Wouldn't they be relaxed as she is almost falling?

I remember being terrible at hands, it does look odd when i look at it. I remember the scene was meant to be of her momentarily letting go of the letter so i guess i was trying to give that impression. But you are right hands would be relaxed while sinking.
