Well, there it is. First I want to mention that my scanner sucks, so the shading is a little distorted compared to the original. This is my first time doing multiple contrast shading; all with only ONE pencil! That's the reason I couldn't produce more than 3-4 shades of gray.As a traditional line-artist, this is a great milestone for me, as well as an inspiration to draw all my future works like this. I realize that I still have a lot to learn when it comes to shading; but since I'm self-taught, that could take a while. So don't give up on me, please?

No but seriously, wow! You're really improving so much!! Well done on getting to the milestone, it looks pretty damn good if you ask me
tbh I don't think it needs that much more shading. I've been really studying Toriyama's cell shading a lot recently and he only uses 3 shades for shadows and then one on top as highlight, so tbh, you're pretty much there. Your lineart is incredible as well, you know that?

The next drawing will be much better! I got in contact with a guy who is a pro traditional artist and he taught me all about drawing and shading tools. He opened my eyes about how just much "equipment" is needed to create a decent-looking drawing, and not just a plain copy paper and a crappy wooden pencil like I used here
It will be a while until I have the time to start drawing again though; But I'll definitely do it when September ends. So look forward to see me level up my technique!

and i know the feeling about the scanner...
made a goku jr piece yesterday, scanned it and it looks like crap...50% of shadows i have on paper aren't visible on the scan...i raged lol

But even though my scanner is lame; personally, I think this could be much better. This is my first time doing full shading, so it looks totally amateur-like (even more so because I drew everything with one cheap wooden pencil). But I will work on improving my style and learn to use various other drawing tools. So, stick around in the future
