Race: Human

Occupation: Song-Lu Peacekeepers

Personality:
Leeah leaves a lot to the imagination after initial meetings. Persevering with an attitude of complete refinement, his gentle smile and attentive behaviour is geared towards the desire of satisfying his curiosity. He holds little interest in revealing much about himself, more so withdrawing when the conversation veers towards him, preferring to remain distant until verifying the purity of the individual he’s speaking with. Being slow to trust and vigilant has left him with the ability of reading people or the situation around him but in return stunts growth of relationships between others. With a judgmental interior and a desire to assess those around him, he’s one to assume the worst of those who prove to be wicked or untrustworthy. Therefore, his outward demeanor has been carefully crafted to measure before revealing anything and if proven unworthy his civility slips, leaving him apathetic and condescending and seeing those he perceives as immoral as disposable. But in reverse of this, the complete opposite extreme is also apparent when Leeah associates someone with positive traits and will appear relatively generous and affectionate if not almost dotting, a strong association with his healing abilities as he desires for those deemed worthy to be safe and healthy. Essentially, Leeah holds very little of himself on his surface but hypocritically judges others at the same value. He’s respectful and jovial but at the same time harsh and critical, fluctuating between the two depending on his company. But deep down even Leeah cannot pinpoint who he truly is, requiring a lot of self discovery as he relies on external stimuli too much to mold himself resulting in a situation where he is unable to fully call himself an independent person.
History: tl;dr - Leeah was born in Song-Lu to two loving parents who took care of him exceptionally well. Quiet and inquisitive in nature, he ventured to the boundaries his parents had given him and enjoyed doing so. As he grew he learnt to heal under his mother but found the simple occupation of nursing others to health dull. Holding a distinct passion for justice while also being extremely curious made it inevitable that he turned to the Peacekeepers but it wasn’t all smooth sailing, a fault in his character leaving his mentor injured, forcing him to retire. Given a second chance, he took time to focus even more and correct any behaviour that did not align with an ideal Peacekeeper, he also grew from a Healer to a Bard in this time. Now he holds much pride in being a Peacekeeper, displayed through his attention and dedication. He enjoys his profession and holds strong desire to continue pursuing it.
Longer version -
Leeah was born native to Song-Lu from two healthy, middle-class parents with an ideal relationship to raise a respectable child. And that is exactly how he grew, nourished by affection and shaped by well thought out restrictions. Quiet in nature from the moment he began to socialise, Leeah had a small select group of friends and a tentative touch to each and every one of his actions. Despite this he was seen adventuring the peripheral areas of the boundaries his parents had set him, a thirst for knowledge of the unknown rooted inside of him.
His curiosity continued even as he aged into a well mannered young man. With a strong sense of justice and an adamant attitude towards righting wrong doers, he held little sympathy towards those who essentially ‘made their own beds’, preferring to let them sleep in it rather than forgiving and forgetting. Nonetheless, his eyes shone with welcoming approval towards conversation so long as he was the one who wouldn’t be talking. He enjoyed listening to people talk with earnest and felt a genuine amount of satisfaction knowing more about the people around him. It wasn’t entirely the most respectable thing but he simply couldn’t help but indulge in the lives of others when they seemed more amusing or scandalous, investing more time than what would be deemed appropriate in gossip. While spending a ridiculous amount of time observing the world around him, Leeah was also coaxed into following the same path as his dainty mother, the woman teaching him her ways of relieving wounds, determined to make her son a refined healer.
Having a mother who held high expectations as a Troubadour made Leeah’s determination tremble, unsure of his worth but was well aware the delicate frame he’d been gifted wouldn’t create a sturdy base for a Fighter if he were to follow in his father’s footsteps. So as he aged he was trained to identify and mend wounds, holding no spectacular talent in the area but enough to persevere. He held slight dissatisfaction over the idea of being at the back-lines when it came to conflict as training to become nothing but first-aid sounded dull and Leeah held little motivation. His determination was focused elsewhere, throwing around the idea of becoming a Peacekeeper throughout the days of his mother’s lenient training as she noticed her son’s attention waning. So when her child aged to nineteen she encouraged him to do something he held a passion in, to his glee.
It was a natural sway from there, immediately focusing his attention on the idea of becoming a Peacekeeper but ultimately, had to keep up with his mother’s training to be of some sort of use. Nonetheless his apprenticeship began and he dedicated a lot of his time towards mentor and his expectations of Leeah rather than what his mother had wished for him.
Leeah was a diligent pupil, listening as he had when he was younger and acting as instructed. Albeit hesitant at times, the young man still made a worthy apprentice, investing as much as he could towards his desired profession. But approximately two years into his apprenticeship that hesitation became the catalyst to grave consequences as he was unable to act on a cue and left his mentor vulnerable. With his inadequate experience in healing his mentor was forced to retire due to injury. Leeah wept, assuming the worst.
Fortunately, he was given a second chance thanks to the praise of his previous mentor, suggesting the child held a strong amount of passion and keen senses when it came to studying others. From that point on wards he refused to allow himself to waver, also training more intently with his mother, learning to soothe those with his voice, becoming a respectable Bard.
It had taken an additional two years, his apprenticeship lasting eight years instead of a possible six but at the age of twenty seven Leeah became a full-fledged Peacekeeper. He was extremely thankful, visiting his first mentor constantly and always assisting his second when he was free. He was glad his initial gentle and weary attitude had matured into something more useful and working for the Peacekeepers was something he held a certain amount pride for. This was demonstrated during the Mutiny against Song-Lu, Leeah acting out his orders to evacuate civilians while admiring the fluidity of the Peacekeepers as they helped protect their homeland with expertise and determination. Acting alongside them only made him want to invest more time into his profession, enjoying every moment wholeheartedly, knowing that what he is doing is helping lives and continues with that mindset today.
Additional info:
- Tenor voice, a tone of airiness accompanying his gentle melodies.
- Almost always smiling, normally seen as sweet or endearing but in certain situations can be perceived as eerie.
- Very meticulous in the way he does things. Dislikes changing his methods when they’ve been assigned and determined.
- Light on his feet, enjoys sneaking up on people and assessing their reactions. (While feigning innocence.)
- Extremely conscious of personal space. Will constantly ask if it is okay for him to touch you in any way and only hopes he’s asked the same in return.
- Was taught very basic skills from the Mage class to defend himself. This was obtained from his second mentor after Leeah expressed desire to be more independent.
