Yeah, it's pretty amazing, don't you think? How a character with such a small role became so freaking popular? I think, at the moment, he's my favorite character in Death Note. >-< Matto is just amazing what with his goggles and hair and fluffy-ness and loyalness-to-the-Mello.

I know, it really is amazing. There's just so little information about him, and he appears for such a small amount of time, yet I'm sure he has a bigger fanbase than Raito. XD I mean really though, how could you possibly hate Matty? He's just... there. Smoking and playing video games. What's not to love?

I think part of it is the mystery. And the fact that we don't really know much about Matt's persona, so we can imagine him however we like. (I like to think he's a laid back yet goofy, loyal, and sometimes typical guy. With a secret S&M fetish. >->

Oh definitely. I bet the mystery is a huge part of it. =3 Everyone has a different take on his personality. I personally see him as also being laid back, yet goofy at times (however also capable of being dead serious), as well as being skilled with vehicles, and I've always see him as being a good shot.
