Description A Border Collie that lives near my mother's house.

She is the sweetest little dog but unfortunately lives in a home where they just let her and their other dogs roam on the street during the day. She has not had any training and has already been hit by a car once. My guess is that she's only a year or two old. She really is a lost soul. If her owners didn't bring her and her comrades (an elderly Lhasa Apso that is practically deaf and blind, and a middle aged black Labrador Retriever) in at night to feed them, I would say that she and the others were homeless.

It greatly saddens me that she's in such a state. She has great potential due to her gentle temperament and her desire to please (she even sat for me today). For a Border Collie, she is very mellow and has very soft sweet eyes. I would love to just ask her owner if I could take her. I'd even be willing to pay them to just offer her a better outlook. Alas, I am not financially prepared to take on another dog at this time. Plus, I don't know how my family will feel if I take on another dog. I hope to get a job in the next couple months and when I do, my first priority is to see if I can bring her home with me. She already comes to me when I call her and with my Border Collie experience, I am sure I can help her become rehabilitated into a proper companion.

Her owners call her Josie, but to me, she looks more like a Nova (Latin for chases butterfly or it can be referred to the cosmic phenomenon) or an Astrid (Norse for divine strength).

I know this photo is not the best, but I really wanted to show off a photo of this beautiful and tragic dog.

EDIT- Sadly, this poor dear was hit by a car without my presence on March 16th, 2013. I asked if I could take her before she was hit, but the owner said no. I cannot help but feel that if she was in my care, this would never have happened. Sleep well Angel.

Oh, yes. There's a place where animals live in such conditions (far worse).

Yes, I do what I can.

Sorry. I thought that's what you meant. My apologies.

Oh, no. Not yet. In fact, I'm not really sure where they live. I think they live far back off the road. I'll have to ask another neighbor for their exact location.
