Description I'm so good at magic, I can make sound effects with my wand.

If you're using someone else's image, remember to ask for permission and link back to their work!

I'm working on some HTML tutorials and realized that not everyone in my audience might know how to access an image URL. I couldn't find any tutorials that used my method, so I decided I'd whip together my own.

On the right side of the deviation page at the top, is a bar with sharing options. You can spam artwork that way to various major share sites. Also, you can easily copy the fav.me short link there.

OR... if you want to embed the artwork in a web page, click on the drop-down arrow on that bar, and copy the Embed code...

The sharing options on deviation pages seem to be simpler to use than this tutorial is...

That's true!

I made this tutorial primarily for people learning to code. For example, if they want to give their journal widget a background, they would need an image URL. But if people just want to share images, the sharing options are definitely better.

Thanks, this is really helpfull!
But how do you 'post' URL? When I tried to use it, it will only link back to image.

I'm glad to hear that this helps!

Posting only the image URL is supposed to give you a link to the image. The code you use to display the image itself works like this:

Insert the image URL where it says "URL" and it should work! Image URLs don't work in comments, but I believe they work for journals, gallery folder descriptions, and profile pages. (I'm not sure exactly how much non-premium members can do, though.) The code will also work in other sites that allow HTML, too.

I'm going to be posting a tutorial in a few days that will go into greater depth, too. Let me know if you can get the code to work!

No, it still doesn't work, but it must be something I'm doing wrong.
I'll read the one that details posting MRL image when you post it.
