Aah they're so tasty and good looking.. Max. 5mm thick slices and then fried in butter... I love it!

I'm from PA, so if you are from the states, I am guessing that is exactly what they are.. Do the research, I don't want to be the one condoning anyone to eat something without checking them out first.

I think they are called Lycoperdon perlatum, at least a form of them. We call them Puffballs.
