In 2015, during my first trip to Japan, I went to Kyoto for a few days and discovered many beautiful artisancrafts, including folding fans <3 They were all so delicate, with amazing handpainted details.

I bought one in a very light pink shade, with small cherry blossoms...it inspired me to create my first "sakura sensu" pendant, with a purple gradient background (which I sold since).

What I also really love about japanese usual folding fans (not ceremony/formal ones) is that their patterns are meant to evoke one of the four seasons most of the time.
