Modern English translation

The great fire dragon tried to repel the pack of fire salamanders from his lair. We escape with our lives. As the great serpent and his foe clash within the valley of fire. No flame can harm these monsters. The fire they spit out will melt both metal and bone. but among each other they will have to use their own strength as their fire alone won't do much.
