Of course, I'll admit I found him wimpy at first but once he kicked Chu's butt I was all "Huh...He's a little Badass, I guess..." and then when Arabasta came along and Usopp and Chopper fought Ms. MerryChristmas and Mr. 4...

Same here XDDD I was proud of him when he was able to kick ass for the first few times. I had a soft spot but he wasn't a favorite unless Water 7 ;-; It felt weird cause my love for him began to surface. Its like you never know what you have till its gone ya know? Cause... thats sort of how it felt XD Here's this sniper on the team thats always there, he doesn't do a lot like the monster trio, but he's there and he's apart of the crew. He's got his strengths though we all point out the weaknesses more. Then we had the water 7 arc. He left. No sniper or... it just felt empty. The tension then Usopp becoming Sogeking. It was like he was gonna leave for ever. Thats when I started to feel much more attached. And his reasons for leaving, the way he felt as being useless and all. I could just...scream out how much I understand those feelings ;x; Usopp was feeling very unneeded Sorta like he's unappreciated with the One Piece fans too I think Oda knew that people didn't like Usopp... so he did that idk .3.;;; But when he showed his face in Enies Lobby NVKLDBVHFILOHBFI I WAS SO HAPPY ;U;

I think it's because of his entire being. People should really think about the situation he's in! I mean, I KNOW I'D BE SCARED IF I WERE SAILING THE SEAS WITH MY FRIENDS AND SOME HUGE MONSTERS WERE IN THE SEA AND WE'D ENCOUNTED STRONGER PEOPLE ALL THE TIME AND BE NEAR DEATH ALMOST EVERYTIME AND CAUSE RUCKUS NO MATTER WHERE WE GO AND IT ALWAYS ENDS UP IN A HUGE FIGHT ... Okay. AND! He's not monsterously strong like Luffy, Sanji or Zoro; as Oda has said, Usopp is closest being a normal person in the crew. Maybe people just like stronger people? Like the said monster trio.
But yes, he develods a LOT, and people should look for what's inside. Because Usopp isn't scared always, he will protect his nakama when truly needed!! People should think about all the amazing this he has done, for a normal human being.
It's actually funny, but I liked Zoro first. BUT! When Usopp showed up I was like "HEY WHO'S THIS DUDE, SEEMS FUNNY!" and I have liked him ever since ..
