New Years was a quiet night in - my dad, who's been on his own for the past two years, took himself to an opera in Toronto, so I went and picked him up when it finished and brought him back to my place. We just sat and talked for a few hours which was, this year, the perfect way to see in the New Year.
How about you? Did you do anything exciting?

Sounds pretty good! It's about who you're with, not where you are on those nights. Hows the year treating you so far?
My new years eve was celebrated at friends, quite quiet but very nice.. Until two cars crashed into each other and we were busy the rest of the night helping out there

Car crashes are never part of a good evening, that's too bad. I hope nobody was seriously hurt.
The new year, so far, is treating me very well. I've got a great work contract that could keep me busy doing really interesting development work with a great team of people for years, and that's pretty exciting. Will be nice to spend time creating things, and not fixing other people's broken things. Much more up my alley! How about you? Good things in your foreseeable future? Traveling much?

I'm good! Traveling a lot in the direct future, also a bit nervous about it but feeling very good in general. You? Year still going steady?

I'm dying to travel, but I'm fairly fixed geographically for a little while. A little nervous excitement is a good thing, lets you know you're pushing yourself just a little outside your comfort zone, and that's where the magic happens!
I'm good, the weather here still vacillates between t-shirt and sunshine, or parka and freezing rain, but I'm enjoying the level of busy and doing things I like, so I have no complaints!
