Description Drawn: 02/17/09
I was looking at the four sword manga, so then i started copying (freehand) the picture of Zelda when Link hands her flowers. Then i started drawing her body and made up a dress for her. Finally i drew her in a way that i like how she looks. I would've colored it but i don't want to mess it up, and i don't have photoshop T_T

Very cute drawing! I like her dress design.
I didn't know Link gives her flowers in the manga! Aww...

Did you know you can get a computer painting program for free? There's a program called GIMP that is completely free with no strings attached: [link]

Also, OpenCanvas offers a 30-day trial for free. I like OpenCanvas better than Gimp. The program still works after the trial is over-- the only thing that really changes is that you can't save your work after the trial ends. It's here: [link]

Or, if you want to color with colored pencils, you could print out a copy of this drawing-- then if you mess up you haven't lost anything Just a thought!

Once you download the two files, then open the installer file (the one that ends with .exe) to set up the program on your computer. The set up process should put a shortcut to the program on your desktop-- click on that. Then go to File > Open and find the picture you put up on dA that you want to color...

Does that answer your question?

There's two files? hmm...I'll have to download the other one. That answers my question, thanks!

It's been a long time since I installed my opencanvas trial... but I'm pretty sure you want both the installer file and the zip format file.

There's one more quick tip I learned that makes coloring much much easier: when you get in your open canvas program, go to "Layer > New Layer" (at the top of the page) and click OK. Then, in the bottom right corner, you should have a box with two layers listed. Change Layer 1 from the Normal setting to the Multiply setting using the drop down menu. Then drag Layer 2 to the bottom, below Layer 1, and start coloring!

That way, if you color on Layer 2, you'll be coloring underneath your lines and won't cover them up. It's much easier

I hope that made sense... haha.
