Description Painted in PSP. The 'mass o' bodies' (there's 66 of them) in the background where rendered out from Poser, then painted in. The rest was done by hand.
The model is:
I was totally stuck on this idea until I saw that face.

Very nice, I like the hair on this one. I wish I could see the Uber high rez version you must have worked on to get all of your 66 bodies in there. This reminds me a little of Lord Of Illusions

*laugh* All you need do is ask and I'd show ya' a detail shot, silly. 'Course I'd probably demand a peek at the whatsits (man, that sounded bad hehe) in return.

Ah, in that case I'd love to see a detailed shot dear Kate. As for my whatsits I've been busy with work-work so 3D has been off to the side. I
promise to show you my...whatsits....as soon as they're ready to be seen. They're kinda shy at the moment and need...to get inspired before
they can really be "social". You can be sure I'll share the niddly bits as soon as I tinker with em' again.

can u tell more about the working process?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mizhak In reply to Taisel [2006-08-24 07:33:31 +0000 UTC]

That's an awfully open-ended question hehe How long you have?

Um.. In general, I work up from a value drawing (grey scale) of solid forms and glaze colour over, basically shifting from black and white to colour while maintaining the contrasts. Then go with straight colour for any semi/transparent elements like the hair and cloth. Lots of custom brushes.. *shrug* If you could get more specific, so could I

Thankyou thats really helpfull I think very highly about your work! Do u colour every thing just with the brush? how much time does it take?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mizhak In reply to Taisel [2006-08-25 21:36:22 +0000 UTC]

Well, I don't time myself. I worked on this over the course of 3 or 4 days. It probably works out to somewhere between 30 and 40 hours, total.
Never just one brush, lots of em. Hair brushes galore (just a series of dots in different patterns), speckly low density brushes, spattery spackle brushes, odd looking texture brushes... And it helps to put the brush options to full use, know when to blot, when to drag and so on and so forth 'Course I'm not beyond getting out the camera and making my own photo textures for some things or bringing in a rendered element. Never hurts when you're stuck or when you just want to short-cut something.

I do so wish I could see this at a higher magnification, there is so much in the texturing to be appreciated. The areas of missing skin intrigue..... exposing an accuracy in the musculature beneath, the voids in the epidermis match the membranes forming the sails..... luv the veining!! At first glance the open areas appear natural (sic LOL) but then lend themselves to the idea of being incised..... hence the requirement for tethers at the wrists.

OK! I give up on the significance of sixty six screaming souls........ Except that in Abjad numerals, the Name Of Allah is the numeric value 66 ........and it is also the international direct dialing (IDD) code for Thailand!!!

The floaty red chiffon petticoat rocks.... and is pure KD magik.

Catchy title, the old words for "Coming into land" LOL, (literally Soaring descent)

The runic inscriptions about the arch translate to "Open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm except national holidays!"...... I'm still translating really, something to do with mentos and diet coke

Don't you just love the throw away, matter of fact, line in the Artist's Comments, "the rest was done by hand." ~ Study the image people! If you gave me a mouse and a thousand years I could not create what Miss Mizhak has produced here...... That line should be in bold, capitalised, in ten foot letters OF PURE GOLD!!

......and I would pay good dollars for an ounce of your creativity and imagination gurl

Bravo KD

There's no significance to the 66... none that I'm aware of anyways. That's just where I got bored of rendering.
A+ on the latin, as always
Gates close at 5pm...sharpish. You were close though hehehe

I think you try to make me blush.
