Its my new character, Kaito! I doubt Ill use him again, but oh well! Kaito....Such a sweet name. I was gonna call him COCOSHI as ~jolmia suggested, but I figured Kaito was better.This took me a few days to make, the coloring longest I think. Scanned the lineart first, and inkted and colored, shaded highlighted and last the background. Im still not sure wether I like the background or not. The shirt...Real pain. Im too carefull with shading, as ~jolmia told me a million times over. So here it is!

Well...I think you should kep him - it 's a good character design. I like his hair, and you did a great job with the hand. I hate hands...anyway. I like the colors, and careful shading is important - it can make or break a picture. So yeah. I'd increase the contrast a bit from lights to darks, but I think this is definitely your best yet!

Of course you get better - practice does that! Not that you were ever bad. Cause you weren't.
As for the whole contrast thing...it's just my opinion, and to be truthful, the only reason I notice at all is because I have a huge problem with not having enough contrast on my pictures. Increasing the darkness on the face and hand might make it pop out a little more, but it's not like it's a major gaping flaw, and heck I'm probably wrong about it anyway.
