Oh MY! The old DESIGN markers that they no longer make. I drew this almost 30 years ago!

Yeah, don't go looking for those at your favorite art store. But they were top of the line back in the 80s when I was in design school.

Thanks....I'm not crazy about Spielberg's version of the story....but I must admit his walkers are pretty damned good looking. You know, there is a shot in his film that is not unlike my painting with the man hiding behind the large bare tree. I saw the film on DVD and was more than a little surprised when i saw such a similar shot! My paintings have been on the interent for years now...and it is not at all impossible that Speilberg's people combed the internet for WOTW images during pre-production....and my images may have found their way into the design process, and actually influenced something along the way. I can't prove it...but I will always wonder.

Never watched the Spielburd as I heard crap about it. Still prefer the old school one or the books

Yeah, Spielberg managed to alienate fans of the book, and just bore the rest of the plain old movie going public. Why anyone would put Tom Cruise in a film is a mystery to me...especially playing a blue collar worker!

I'm working on how to critique other works, including providing criticism. As soon as I find something of yours that sucks, I promise to let you know (but you aren't giving me much -- OK, I didn't like Vampirella, but that could be 'cause I know nothing about the character or what she was supposed to look like).

PS: What the heck is at the bottom left-hand corner? It seems a little distracting.

It's supposed to be the base/roots of the branchless tree to which Vamparilla clings. In those days, my compositional skills were weak, at best.

One day I'll show some of my early "geometric shape people" (couldn't bring myself to draw stick people) for laughs.

Jeff,
Have you ever heard of a site called Digitalwebbing.com? They are a comic related talent site. You can join for free and possibly get work through the site. They presently have a large number of listings of people looking for artists. Some are freebies, some actually offer payment. You might want to look into this if you haven't already done so. There are a lot of artists involved with the site, but in all honesty, your work would blow most of them out of the water.

ooh, This one is cool! Did you use watercolors?

This was drawn in hard-point black marker with Design Markers for the color. The colors have faded a bit over the years.
