Description "The kid settled into a crevice between piles of cast-off boxes, where the unsleeping gleam of the pavement was buried under layers of back-alley filth. He didn't mind the dirt; he didn't even notice it. Dirt grayed his worn clothes, the pale curls of his hair, the warm brown of his skin. Dirt was a part of his life..."

- Joan D. Vinge, "Alien Blood"

Pencil, 11x14", with digital color correction added in Photoshop.

Part of "The End Of Infinity" project, now available in print in a collection with five original short stories: [link]

wow....that is amazing and quite disturbing. Nicely done! ....this whole series reminds me of some of the stuff I saw @ the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum in Japan. very sad.

Yep, I can tell all of them will be faved when I'm done... Where do you get your models from! The expression, the fabric, the hair, the building textures. Wonderful, and a very realistic subject as well.

This piece is very good. I like the girl's face. Her calm serenity contrasting with the act she is about to commit. Its is if she is used to it, like it is an every day fact of life; and for her, it probably is. Very well done.
