rendering: Luxrender 0.8 (using Luxblend 0.7.1)

design time: 2 evenings
render time: 41 hrs, 3000 spp (Intel Q6600)
resolution: 1920x1080

Golden sphere studded with precious gemstones atop a silver base. I wanted to use the current Blender (2.61) and the current Luxblend (2.5) but the scene didn't look realistic enough. Even though I still used the current Luxrender (0.8), I happened to use the older Luxblend (0.7.1) and the necessary older Blender (2.49b) to get a more realistic render.

Blender is excellent for being free. C4D has some advanced features that Blender misses.
