Description Yep, I have fallen in love with the Disney Movie: Encanto. The songs were soooooooooooo catchy that I've seen been singing about it A LOT. But, I couldn't help but wonder, what if the cracks didn't happen at the rising action/climax of the movie? What if Mirabel notice that the family was growing apart? What if Mirabel just kept trying to "fit" into the family and ignored all the other details around her?

Another rainy day.

At a small part of Columbia, where the tales of the magical Madrigals were heard far and wide, was having another rainy day that wasn't scheduled for...again. Luckily, it wasn't a thunderstorm unlike the other day when a mischievous Camilo decided to play a prank on his mother, Pepa. But this time, he did not went to disturb or bother Pepa, she was just reading a sad romantic story that caused her to have tears welled up in her eyes, and making that day yet another rainy day.

"Again, mi amor? You know those stories can make you cry!" said her husband, Félix.

"I know, I know. But I can't stop thinking about reading it! It's hard not to read your favourite books, you know!" Pepa said.

"Tía Pepa! I finished sewing your dress–woah!" Mirabel said while accidentally barging into her aunt's room. She sighed and went to her own room to get something for her to wipe of the tears from her face.

"Here. I made this so that whenever you start crying, you can take this and wipe the tears off your face!" Mirabel said while handing over the cloth to Pepa. "And sorry if I sounded rude or anything."

"That's so thoughtful of you! Thank you, Mirabel!" Pepa thanked her niece.

"By the way, where were you at Antonio's gift celebration?" Félix asked.

"Oh, I was uh, trying to find something for Antonio. But I gave up finding it. And uh, I have something else to attend to. Bye!" Mirabel lied. The actual reason why no one could find her at Antonio's gift celebration was because the family had unintentionally left her out and she went to sing "Waiting On A Miracle", saying how much she just wanted to fit in the family.

Ever since the gift celebration was over, Mirabel had been trying to fit into the family and get noticed by even a little bit that she was just as special as everyone else in the family. However, most of them did not pay too much attention on her, only her parents, her sister Luisa, and her cousin Antonio.

Many days later, Bruno was suddenly spotted by Dolores, and she told everyone about this. Everyone was so overjoyed to realise that the long lost Madrigal member had came back after 10 long years! (Yes, that's how long he was hiding in the walls) But Alma wasn't too happy with it, but still let him come back into his room, hoping that his visions won't upset anyone again like how it happened last time.

But sadly, after he returned, all eyes were on him, leaving Mirabel left out from the family once again. She decided that it was best for her to lock herself in her room for the night and think of doing other dress-making projects that she has been planning recently. But after hours and hours of planning, she still felt like something was missing. Maybe she felt lonely? But it wasn't the case. She felt left out, shunned away from the family because of someone doing something as simple as reuniting with his family after a long time. But she hadn't noticed it yet. She kept telling herself not to get upset or angry that her uncle her returned to the family. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Mirabel? Can I come into your room? It's your Tío Bruno!" Bruno said. Mirabel excitedly opened the door. But to her shock, the whole family was there, behind Bruno! She didn't expect her family find her!

"We've been looking for you everywhere!" said her mother. Lots of questions were being asked to Mirabel until she could not take them anymore.

"Why didn't all of you find me sooner?! I mean, we're family and all but, why didn't you ever felt like someone was missing?!" Mirabel snapped. Her sudden lash made everyone go silent. "My whole life, I never felt like I was part of the family. Sure, Bruno knows how I feel, but do you know how it feels like to be ignored everytime you try to impress someone and they ignored you just because you have no gift? The topic of me 'having no gift' has been brought up so many times and no one seems to notice how much this has hurt my feelings."

"Gosh, I didn't know that you felt that way," her sister, Isabela said.

"Oh, and only now you noticed that. I can't believe that all of you would think it's okay for people to keep saying that I have no gift. Yes, mom and dad have been helping me, but this hasn't stopped the others from saying that," Mirabel said while starting to breakdown into tears. "Do you know how frustrating it is right now? To be constantly reminded that I don't have A FREAKING GIFT?!" Everyone started to think about the times when Mirabel had still wore a smile on her face, even though some of them said she had no gift or something similar to that while watching the teenager crying into her hands.

"We're sorry that you felt this way. I guess we got so caught up with our own things that we didn't even notice that you felt that way," Pepa said with an apologetic look on her face.

"And yet, you still helped us with things that even we ourselves couldn't even fix," Luisa added.

"How can we make it up to you?" Dolores asked.

"I don't know. I...I just want to be alone," Mirabel stammered while still in tears.

"Then we'll do just that. We will leave you alone so that you can calm down, and we can do more to make it up to you," Julieta said.

The next day, Mirabel woke up to see that two of her cousins, Camilo and Antonio, were standing right next to her bed.

"Ahh! What are you guys doing here so early? It's not like you to be here!" Mirabel said in shock. Camilo started to shapeshift in different funny faces, but it didn't make Mirabel even giggle.

"Ummm... what is he doing?" Mirabel asked Antonio.

"Oh, we're just trying to make you smile!" Antonio said enthusiastically, although it seemed a bit weird, especially the tone of his voice.

"Both of you? 'Cause I can see you doing nothing while Camilo is doing...whatever that is..." Mirabel said while pointing to her cousin, who was still transforming into different faces.

"Okay, can stop now? I know that we wanna make her laugh, but I'm getting tired of making different faces," Camilo said, finally stopping. Antonio gave him a glare. "What? I can't stop?"

"That's okay. You two just go and get breakfast," Mirabel said while she gently pushed them away.

"But-!" the two cousins said at the same time, but got cut off when Mirabel closed the door.

While making her way down the Casita, she suddenly got lifted high into the air and suddenly received a bouquet of flowers.

"Woah, woah, woah! Luisa! Put me down! And Isabela! You don't have to shove a bunch of flowers at me!" Mirabel yelled. The day was just getting weirder and weirder!

"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to do that! I just wanted to give these!" Isabela said with a smile, right before her flowers wilted. "Oh. Dang it!"

"Okay...Luisa, put.me.DOWN." Mirabel said.

"Okay, okay, fine, I'll put you down," Luisa said. After that, their mother popped out of nowhere and gave Mirabel some arepas!

"What is going on with everyone?!" Mirabel said. Suddenly, their was a beautiful rainbow outside.

"Hey Mirabel! I made the weather just right!" Pepa shouted over to Mirabel.

"Please, everyone, just please, stop! I don't get why all of you are doing this for me and-" Mirabel said, before she got cut off by someone.

"Mirabel! I...have...a vision!" Bruno said while catching his breath.

"Not now, Tío Bruno. What is going on right now?!" The family explained how they felt bad for Mirabel, so they were doing some "nice things" to make it up to her. But Mirabel didn't like it, it was too overwhelming for her to handle. She then ran into her room and locked the door.

Bruno went to his niece's room and asked her to let him in. "It's about the vision! You need to see it!" Mirabel then reluctantly let him in. He showed Mirabel the tablet about the vision.

"After when you lashed out at us, I wanted to know what will happen tomorrow or further into the future. I was hoping that it was something nice. But it wasn't. I saw what happened today, then, I saw you crushing the candle!"

"The candle?! Why?" Mirabel asked in horror.

"It was probably how the townspeople treated you. And it's...tonight. You will crush the candle tonight," Bruno said with his face saddened. "But! You and the family will make amends! Eh? Eh?" Bruno the added while trying to let Mirabel see the bright side.
But it was no use.

Eventually, everything that Bruno saw in the vision came true. The townspeople treated Mirabel like as if she wasn't there. At night, the fateful event happened. Cracks were everywhere in the house. Bruno tried to patch them up, but it was no use. Whatever that was said to happen was happening right before the family's eyes. The house started breaking, the Casita was getting the family out, but Mirabel was determined to do something: Save the candle to change the future. But once she got the candle, the house came crashing down with Mirabel falling with it! Miraculously, she survived! But that was when Mirabel's fate was happening. She heard the family calling out to her, finding her. But she didn't bother to respond. She looked at the candle and said, "Sorry, Casita. But if I can't get a gift... then no one can.(okay I MAY have stolen that line from a youtuber who did an animation abt this so pls tell me who it is and I'll update this post right away.)" Crushing the candle into bits of wax. Unbeknownst, the family witnessed in horror of what she had said and done. Watching their kind and creative Madrigal member crushing their magical object that made the Casita!

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Alma asked, terrified at what just happened in front of her. There was a long silence. Mirabel grinned, but it was a creepy grin. She slowly turned her head and replied, "I'm just doing what's best for the family, since I love them so much."

"But...you just...destroyed-" Antonio stammered, obviously terrified at what his favourite cousin had just done to the family. After a few minutes of another scary silence, Mirabel then looked at what she had done, but looking around, it seemed like she had done more harm than good. Immediately, her grin was wiped away after scanning the area one more time.

"What have I done?" Mirabel asked herself. "I'm a monster!" She ran away into the forest, crying. The family decided to follow her to talk about it.

But when they found Mirabel, they saw her at the edge of a cliff. They immediately knew what she was going to do.

"Mirabel, don't!" Julieta called out. But Mirabel just stood there, as still as a statue.

"After all I've done, you still want me to come back? Do you know what happened? Do you want me to destroy even more things?!" Mirabel finally said.
"I... I did nothing but make things worse. I destroyed the Casita, the candle. I...I'm...such an idiot,"

"No, you're not. Yes, you did this, but it's because of how we treated you, even today," Dolores explained.

"Now I'm starting to see why...you did this, because of envy. Didn't you? And, it's because of us, isn't it?" Bruno asked while slowly approaching Mirabel.

"Stay away from me," Mirabel warned. "I don't want to hurt anyone else right now."

"But, Mirabel-" Julieta said while the rest of the family (and herself) slowly walked to Mirabel.

"I said STAY AWAY FROM ME! I'M NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!" Mirabel shouted. Then she started to cry. "Just... stay away from me." She then felt a hand on her back. She looked up and saw that it was Abluela Alma, with the others standing behind her. Mirabel began to cry even more and hugged her whole family.

"I'm sorry for everything. I just...I just..." Mirabel said, breaking down so hard that she could not find any words to say.

"Shhh...it's okay. We forgive you," Alma said.
The Madrigals went to rebuild the Casita and encouraged Mirabel to help out. After that, the house was completed. Just one more thing.

"We need to get a candle," Mirabel said with her head down, her hands hold the crushed up candle.

"You know what? We don't need a candle. We can just use this one and make it together!" Alma said. The family put together their creativity and made the most creative candle the world has every seen.

I'm so lucky to have a forgiving and loving family. Mirabel thought. And I will treasure them until the end.

AND BUCK I TOOK 3 HOURS TO DO THIS! Hope it was worth it 🙏
