Description This is the first of a bunch of sketches i'm going to upload over the next few days. Thought i might as well upload this one before i go to bed.

So yeah, i had a lot of spare time when i first started uni. XD

True, practice makes perfect. But I dread using my colored pencils and just my regular pencil to shade. My sharpies shade by themselves.

I try to shade with a pencil, everything is grey. Teacher says erase some, so it turns white. Then she says shade darker and it's pitch black. She asks where's the drawing and it's underneath all the shading.

Goodness. I find that a good shading technique is cross hatch, or even stippling (which is shading made up of dots) , though stippling takes a lot longer and is less fun

Yeah, I prefer cross hatching. Me trying to shade with dots would be like me trying to do impressionism with dots: all the same color and spread out everywhere on the paper.
