The wandering red Oni, Knuckles has ventured into the Kingdom of the Sun from a far off land in search for a sacred jewel that was robbed from him. With his monstrous strength and fiery temper, he alone challenges the warring Shoguns who were responsible. He has been sought after by the Freedom Clan as a potential ally but has shown no interest in their feuds, concerned only with his quest and defeating the Emperor. On his own he has the strength to topple armies in his way, matched only by the Blue Ghost and Eggman's deadly ronin enforcer.
