Happy holidays! And please drive VERY CAREFULLY!!!* * * * *
Was doodling in my plain paper 4-3/4” x 3-1/2” (12cm x 8cm) sketchpad. This is another of those “happy accidents”.
The ‘black cloud’ is scribbling from a black “GoldFaber Aqua” pencil as I’ve been experimenting with the Mark Crilley “two pencil” method (I did the “Miss You” eyes that way). I was seeing what it does on this paper (how light/dark, how does it feel to use, what textures can it create, etc).
Later I used this same sheet to play with a cartridge fountain pen someone gifted me. As I was wallowing on the couch and the tree was right there in front of me, I doodled that. So the black cloud isn't truly a 'Dark Cloud' in this scene... More like the night sky(?). But let the art interpret the reader.
Happily and quite accidentally it all turned into a cute little scene!
