I love the simplicity of this
the isolation of the tree is lovely, but the negative space above it makes me want to stare at a white sheet of paper and contemplate the meaning of life
not that that's a bad thing

Before I even read the title.
My thoughts were, nice use of negative space.
What are the odds? (probably not that low)

Well, great use of negative space!

There's something paradoxily simple in the chaotic randomness of the ways trees/plants develop and you've framed it so incredibly calmly it's beautiful.

moeffju In reply to t3chnic0l0r [2005-01-10 23:54:25 +0000 UTC]

It's all in your mind - I believe this can be seen in various ways, and the postapocalyptic solitary remainder of what once was is one such way. Thanks!

t3chnic0l0r In reply to moeffju [2005-01-11 04:34:02 +0000 UTC]

Looking again i spose it's also "my little bit of peace" kind of deal, sitting under the tree in solitude, not alone, but by yourself, you understand. Is there any one meaning you tried to capture? Or do you leave it up to the viewer? looker? what are 'we' called? the audience? im rambling.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moeffju In reply to t3chnic0l0r [2005-01-11 11:38:14 +0000 UTC]

For me personally, it was more of a sign of hope, à la last survivor, standing strong in the middle of nothingness. But I can find many different interpretations, be it peace, solitude, be it hope or despair. It's interesting which emotions something so seemingly simple can evoke.
