what color did you use for your reflective color?

Hmmm.. I think I just left it white, or the default white with a blue/yellow tint. It did not matter so much because most of the final look comes from postwork.

thanks i will im over two months in now, in a 6 month course and its going well. its two years condensed into 6 months so its quit the challenge to get things done. but its going well. what did you all learn in school? im learning modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging and animation and much more. the list is long so i wont get into much detail. i love your work and look forward to more of your pieces.

Yep, I learned the same stuff at school as well. However I came out rather poorly with texturing and lightning and rendering. But the year of school gave me a basic understanding of how the steps of working with 3D works.
Since you are taking an intensive course, then you might not "master" all the steps of working with 3D, but as long as you understand them, then you got plenty of time afterwards to develop your skills!
Its about 3 years now since I went in that school. So since then I've been doing a lot of 3d work and Im happy with my progress! Its been an addiction to improve!

your help would be great, i dont need it at this moment but i think i will ask for it later.im focusing getting good at modeling, texturing and lighting. im hoping to get good at those aspects and develope them after school along side animation. i really want to learn digital paionting in photoshop also. i think that would be a very usefull in the future. im just learning lighting and more on texturing with an optional project that im extreamly exited about. three years is far along. are you employed or on a contract?(if it isnt personal)

I see.. Those are all safe bet and useful to learn and know! Usually the start of a 3D path is divided into two interrests. The rendering/texturing one, and the animation/rigging/character one. In additional to modelling. Get a grasp on them all, and find out what you like to do most! Three year is not that much. But dedicate some hours of a day or a week, and its going to be fruitfull years for sure!
My current situation is full time employment as a 3D artist for about 2 years now. But I do a lot of various things to additional to that, such as vfx, compositing, animating and 2D graphics at my work. Long days =.=

ah cool i would love to get employed right away. the nice thing is bioware observes our school and im hoping to work for them as soon as possible. i know its highly unlikely but i can dream. im so frustrated at maya right now because its is glitching on me. im so fortunate how many companies scope out the school im in. i didn't know that so many companies were watching us students. its awesome.

It probably is. But there is nothing saying everything is going to be better once you get an employment. You still have to work hard and polish what you have learned. Improve and produce.
A very good fact to keep in mind, is if you have companys watching at you and your classmates work. Then know that if they are going to pick someone for a job offer/interview, they will take the best ones. So work hard!
