wHOA! I total;ly didn't know that! I have totally been meaning ot check out the book, but I really wouldn't know what translation is the best or how I would even lug that brick around. That bit of info really does match my headcanon, though, so that's neat!
I wouldn't know though, exactly what I was thinking when I painted this, since it has been many months since I finished it. orz. Thanks again for the comment and the favorite!!

There are places in the book that you get really bogged down in the history, etc., but you get so much more insight into the characters. If you're a Javert fan, you should at least read the suicide scene (a chapter called "Javert Derailed"). It's heartbreakingly beautiful.

Hahha, yeah, I knew about the history lessons instilled in the book. The only thing I knew abotu the book for years was 'There's a chapter about Waterloo???????' so, yeah, consider myself prepared. At least I find that fascinating if a bit dry.
Oh man, I am SUCH a Javert fan. Every time I experience his suicide on film or in a musical production...Ugh, it breaks my heart. I know Hugo's writing will break my heart just like all those fabulous actors on stage
