Description

Truly a legend of his times...

Recently he earned more screen time. But for what I'm about to write many fans would scold me.

He surely was a legend, prodigy, excellent warrior...Still, there's something in him that throws me off... idk... Whenever I read Gaiden or recent episodes I have this weird feeling like running windows on Apple hardware He's genius and prominent shinobi but he lacks one basic skill, which is leadership. Haters are gonna point the invisible guns at me and throw curses like shurikens, but think about it for a moment.

You're a warrior. In recognition of your skills you are given the honor to guide the youth through the hardships of war. You're appointed to guard, teach and lead 3 young people. Note please, that those little soldiers are not machines, they are people. With personalities, grudges, emotional luggage and interactions between them. We all know the stupid period of life which is youth. Minato's role as team leader is to turn those young volcanoes into capable soldiers. It requires of him objective assessment of their drawback and benefits, which he does excellently, pointing out teenagers' flaws, but he also has to enhance their teamwork, in which Minato fails. He fails so miserably that he lets egocentric genius to lead girl who's in love with him and the boy he keeps on mocking... Room shot! Big laugh! Applause! Applause! Applause! Why, knowing how flawed the team is a leader would let them fight and carry out important mission. A leader's role is to know when to withdraw, to measure the skills of his team. Because HE wanted to believe that his team is worthy to perform the difficult task. It's plain selfish. Unfortunately being a leader you can't afford to live for yourself. Your life belongs to anyone, but you. Your fears and doubt are aimed at people you lead.. Leader cannot send people not skilled enough to perform duty exceeding their skills because HE believes/wants to believe they can do it. Leadership is about people, not about the wishful thinking...

Thank you for your attention. I hope I won't get shot with invisible bullets for my small rant. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And I'm open to discuss this issue I mean discuss, not being thrown with shit
