She's an official character in MK Armageddon. You can find lots of infos at google, just type "mk sareena"

The short version is, She's a slave who fights for Quan Chi. But she hates living in the Netherealm, so in MK Mythologies, she turns on him to help out Sub-Zero (the older one, Bi-Han). Then Shinnok kills her.
But she's a demon, so she can't really die. They just go back to Hell. So she came back in the Gameboy version of Deadly Alliance and joined up with the younger Sub-Zero, Kuai Liang, until Armageddon where Quan manipulated her into working for him again.
