"What on earth did this?" Roxie peered at the hull breach and into the void beyond.This little mini-story of Ranger Roxie continues here:
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser Pro Game Dev with a tad of postwork in Photoshop. The astronaut is based on Roxie, a character that is included with Poser and doesn't get enough love. The space suit is something that was designed for TY2 but I converted for Roxie to wear. The gremlins are based on Victoria 4. The set is mostly the work of Cofleck-Gnorg and is called "hull breach". I can get you more information about any of the meshes and textures that you see here so that you can purchase them for your own Poser or DAZ Studio library.

My inspiration for this is the legend of gremlins. They were supposed to be little critters that deliberately caused malfunctions in the aircraft flown during WWII. There's a Twilight Zone episode where a dude played by Bill Shatner is the only one on a commercial airliner who notices a gremlin on the wing destroying the engine. My thought is that as we advance into space so will the gremlins... or maybe we'll meet a new life form with the same sense of mischievous evil.
I hope you like the picture. Let me know, especially, if you like Roxie and if you'd like to see a bit more of her. Personally I get tired of the same character meshes all the time.

What's strange about Space Gremlins, is their strange way of destroying space vessels. They don't outright to to blow it up. Their culture forbids it. They want the passengers to have an opportunity to learn not to fly through their sacred space. While it seems some Gremlins can tell the difference between a rescue ship and a standard one... sometimes they've been known to bait ships using the distress signals of the escape pods of a recently destroyed ship. It depends on the strain.
This particular species is far more sadistic. They breach hulls right where there are hallways underneath. They consider spaced space travelers a worthy sacrifice to please their gods.

Nice! I don't know that I've seen or heard of Roxsie before. She looks nice. The gremlins are cool too. I particularly like this a full rez. New story?

Heh. Maybe you've not heard of her because I mispelled her name! 
As for a new story... maybe. I am looking at putting together a team of Space Rangers. Trying to decide if I want male and/or alien members of the team. I tend to go with human females (which is popular) and I already have a few other characters.
As for full rez, I think the fact that I make the originals available is lost on a lot of my watchers. I use JPEG for compatibility reasons but the original has virtually no compression so it SHOULD look appreciably better than the standard viewing versions here. Ah well...

Oh Molly, I so remember that episode...very well....it was scary as were many of Twilight Zone stories...needless to say I loved the stories and some were the trigger for quite a few fantasies,,,love your characters dearie!
PS: the gremlins seemed to be blown off the wing right before Shatner got someone to look thru his window on the airliner. He would stare out and then a Gremlin would pop into view. Scared me into a scream as I remember. In the end he is carried off the plane on a stretcher but in the background you see that a piece of sheet metal had been torn off the airliner.

I'd quite forgotten about that movie and was thinking much more of the Twilight Zone episode that I remember giving me nightmares with the nasty gremlin on the wing of the airplane tearing up the engine.

I don't know that I'll do much more with the gremlins idea... maybe. I do think I want to expend on the idea of Roxie the Space Ranger... maybe add some colleagues.

I'm going to do a few Space Ranger pictures with her... but I think I'm going to try setting her up in a few other characters as well. Thank you for the encouragement.
