My big, beautiful girl (9 years together) died in July from brain cancer. She was 34. This poem made me cry a little, but I am so glad I found it. Thank you for sharing.

Self acceptance is a hard thing to come by... and it's not just big girls. Everyone ,it seems, sufferes so bad from a lack of confidence. I see it in the youth that is growing up...because they are being bombarded by messages telling them to be "become" rather than just be, and be happy with it.
Anyways... it's quite sad
I like your poem. It is well written, and has a great message. 
God, I stuggled for years with that BS, and now I don't care who's watching. The first time I wore a tank top out in public was when I was 17... thinking my arms were too fat... and I wouldn't wear shorts because of stretchmarks on my calf....

Oh, I never wear tank tops! or shorts, for that matter. I actually don't really have high self esteem, as this poem would suggest. I've mentioned this before, but I was feeling really crappy about myself when I wrote it.
