Description I was asked how I did my scar makeup for Sabo during Nakamacon, so here's a brief tutorial on what I do for my Scars.
#1 Outline the scar using a lip liner in a red tone, I use a color called "Berry Red"
#2 Fill in used Ben Nye's Creme foundation, color is L-5 Tan Rose
(Note: These are the colors I use for my complexion for Sabo's & Luffy's Scars as they are burn scars, different Scars and skin tones would need different colors)
#3 Cover the Scar with Clear Liquid Latex and only the scar, you don't want to go past your edges onto the non scarred area (If you aren't allergic to latex) I'm using Ben Nye's Clear Liquid Latex for this step
#4 once the Latex is dry, cover the area with baby powder and rub it in, this helps set it and removes the glossy appearance caused by the latex
#5 spray the area with Makeup setting/barrier spray, let it dry, and wipe off any extra. This will remove the white residue left over from the baby powder (I don't use any specific brand of spray, it's what ever the local costume/party store has available, this time around I used a brand called "Mehron")
All done in 5 simple steps, the latex will peel a little thru out the day, but it can be tacked back down by using more latex or a glue stick. I prefer using a glue stick as I don't have to worry about a bottle of latex breaking open in my carrying bag during the middle of con.

This is exactly what I needed for my cosplay, thanks! ^_^

About how much time would you estimate this takes, start to finish (including drying time)?

It takes me about 20-30 minutes to do full makeup for Sabo, that includes facial contouring and the scar it self.

The more latex you use on the scar, the longer it will take, drying time for a single layer of latex can take about 2-5 minutes but can be longer depending on humidity in the room or moisture being trapped between your skin and latex.
