What I always find most impressive in your works (which are always spectacular) is how you render the tyres: you make them look so natural, you can feel that they're made from rubber and not metal like the car body!
This one is a particularly great example of this. Excellent work!!

Thanks - I always illustrate the tyres first as it seems to ground the car. I did these tyres using cool and warm greys which seemed to work out really well and made them more realistic.
My next illustration is all about the tyres so hopefully I can use the same technique. Thanks again for the comment.

Thanks for the reply!
Starting from the wheel is an interesting technique, and I just realized that I tend to start my drawing with the headlights (I always did like this since I was a child, actually!), maybe because I need to feel the car "face" before anything else... But I will try starting from the tyres the next time, just to see how it goes!
May I ask what size this drawing is? To put that many details in it, i suspect it to be adequately large!

Hi - yes its odd how you have habits in drawing. I have always started with the wheels and ground shadow to give the car weight. I have looked at it as if I am building the car from the ground up.
The detailed illustrations of cars are A3 297mm x 420mm in size. I have also done some small A5 black and white quick reference drawings which I am yet to post.

I have just posted a big update that includes 3 of the smaller black and white drawings I have done.
These are a quarter size of my usual work.

I did see them! They look absolutely stunning as they are, but knowing they are smaller than usual makes them look even better to my eyes!
