It was fair. He seems to have liked the movie but not as much as other people did, that's alright. It's understandable. However, I think that the way he looks at the whole bias thing disregards the film's actual message, and I already wrote a comment stating my pov on the topic there, but I am just gonna go ahead and do it here as well (welp, you're screwed >:I ):
Zootopia does talk about prejudice, and it's not the first film to do so either, true enough. But it's the FIRST movie I've watched which adresses the true nature of the issue, which is that everyone is being biased all the time. You are. And so am I. There is no way around it. But we can still try. And we have to try!
The film shows this by making Judy someone who is affected by prejudice and as a result condemns it (saying things like "Gideon Grey is a fox who just so happened to be a jerk" to her obviously biased parents) but ultimately is forced to face the truth about how she had been biased the entire time! The conlusion everyone should draw from this is that prejudice does not only work in one direction, and yes, Doug, it's also a bad thing. But it can't be avoided, we have to live with it and find ways to connect to people who are different than us ("Try to make the world a better place").
Sorry this became such a long reply, I know you weren't actually of this opinion but I really wanted to share my thoughts here :/
