Description
This is the third and final shot of the Glenelg Pier, on the St Vincent Gulf, South Australia that I will be adding to my gallery. I guess the same subject gets old, no matter how you (the watchers) view their perspectives.This shot was taken earlier in my stay in Glenelg than both the original 'Just by the pier' [link] and 'Escape' [link] on a night that was less than perfect than the others. Some strong winds and high level cloud were present, but thankfully the different perspective and clouds added to the overall image.
I am yet to decide whether or not I will pursue many more 'waterscapes' as there are many other things I wish to start producing images of, but for now I am happy with these three images. Thanks again to all my watchers and everyone else who contributed to the success of my last few images. Your support is very much appreciated.

With this shot, not a great deal. The use of some filters helped with the colours. I used a small adjustment with the curves function to correct the histogram slightly and a slight bit of sharpening on the pier. I then added the border and thats about it...

Glenelg Jetty... there are a few along that coast which are quite photogenic including Grange and Brighton. There are heaps in Melbourne / Victoria as well.

I do... I spend about a week per month in Adelaide, and its right near where I stay. The weather is always perfect when I'm there (here at the moment

I think the "just by the pier" image really picks up the orange in the sunset, but this is a far better overall photograph. The sunset seems to really fit in this scene and the pier is perfectly placed/cropped/angled whatever you want to call it. Everything lines up in this image and the lighting really completes it. Very nice work!

Yes I guess the major difference is that the 'Just By The Pier' image is a HDR, so its far more vibrant whereas the 'Engulf' image is just a normal capture. I am pleased with both, but also agree that the perspective of 'Engulf' is much more complete.

Well, I thought the other one was just taken earlier in the day, and even that this one was the HDR. Honestly, I think that when you get such good lighting as this, you don't need to take the image in RAW format, maybe just a flash and you're fine.

Yeah I agree. I only shoot RAW when I know that I'll need to post-correct things such as WB. This one was a jpeg shot and I knew that it would be fine. I should have used some fill flash for the pier but its ok. Next time.
