Terrific. Another cheap idea you can experiment with for masking is candle wax. Just take care because you cannot really change your mind later. I just draw it on with tea-candles, or crumble them up and smear them on; you can get all sorts of crazy effects.

Does it just peel off the paper afterwards without sticking?

No, it's there forever. I scrape off any build-up with a palette knife after everything is dry, and it is pretty much invisible. I used it to good effect like that in these paintings:

Oh...thank you. I have already wrote the other artists that I'm taking part in Inktober and my life is kinda busy right now. But you can use one of my photos from the gallery if you need one.

I really like the way you mixed cyan and reddish accents on that main rock, it's always so hard to get right greys - not too flat and not too colorful. Here this shade with all these graduations is perfect as for me .

I see that you decided to face this white foam (I cheated in this part XD) and you've got really interesting result! You used saturared blue like cerulean blue and it works really good. Facing foam I tried from begining greyish blues (in the end I overpainted the foam and altered the original setting a bit ^^'), I was afraid that brighter blue won't match, but you show that it's ok, what is really surprising for me. You show very clearly it's just right play with white, grey and bright blue.

I wonder what greens you use here (they are pure colours or mixture?). I think that they are very well matched and give taste to whole painting. I always had problem with greens and couldn't understand why until I read one good book about painting where the author said that most of artists have problem with green because human eye can see far wider range of green shades than other colours so we are more sensitive to "not matching" greens. So yeah, it explain the why it's so... but doesn't resolve it ^^'. You also have problems with greens?

I mixed the two greens in the pocket set (veridian and sap green) with a touch of Prussian blue and ivory black. Normally I would mix from fresh but I was struggling to get the mossiness in the colour. Yes greens are tricky!

Thanks, have you to thank for that, I always spend ages checking out your treatment of water, you are still the master but hopefully I'm starting to get a similar effect to yours.
