Description
So out of a sudden strike of inspiration (and having wanted to draw Pandora in a series of flower themes for awile now) I finally got around to it - and this is the first one. The idea behind these sort of pictures is I imagined designing dresses on Pandora based on a certain flower. Thus, the dress takes on the characteristics of the flower's petals and such. And since Pandora is modeling them, I treated her poses and "attitude" like that of a model... so she's not as cheery and cute as usual... more like a refined, mature look with a splash of her own personality thrown in.

Why I chose Morning Glories.... they're a rather odd flower, eh? I mean, they're not, say, popular. You probably don't think of them first when you think of flowers and depending on where you live you may have never even seen them in person!

Back when I was little, I was walking with my grandma Ruthie around the nieghborhood. On one paticular corner there was a crack in the sidewalk near a gate that surrounded the corner apartments. From the crack, and entwined on the gate, where these purple-blue flowers. They looked so delicate, but I couldn't help picking one. I showed it to my grandma and she said "Oh! That's a Morning Glory." She told me that they open up in the morning and close when the sun sets. At the time I thought that was amazeing...

So, this picture is dedicated to my grandma Ruthie. I don't get to see her at all these days - when I was younger she'd always take me out to the park and pick me up from school... I had no idea how sick she was though, at the time. At the moment she's in a nurseing home... I think I'll give her a call.

(On a side note, Pandora really looks good in purple!)
