Description Ok, now I think I'm getting tired...

Wedding Peach is a secret guilty pleasure of mine. I bought the first few volumes of the graphic novels (up to number 4, because 5 was missing and I don't like skipping over books. But then the store NEVER got a copy of number 5 and then they stopped selling Wedding Peach all together! Pffffft). The artwork is extremely cute and stylish in my opinion. While the characters are all pretty petite there is a lot of strength in the designs. The story is... pretty silly really, but if you approach it lightheartedly it's a nice read. I have an idea of how it ends, but... don't anyone spoil it for me! DX

I'm also aware there's an anime. For some reason, I just don't have the heart to watch it........

Anyway, at first I was drawing Momoko in really weird poses. Very action-y. But they were too awkward, so instead I went for something very different. It's such a cheery manga and anime! I thought maybe a somber looking Momoko would look nice.... but in the end I don't think it looks like her. I made her look older. x_x And European.... somehow... >_<;

Also, without color she really does look like a Sailor Senshi. Don't blame me! It's not my character!

Her hair was fun to draw though, but that goes without saying.

Anyway, Momoko and Wedding Peach belong to Nao Yazawa.

True. Now I just need someone to commission me and I shall come FULL CIRCLE! (Almost... since I didn't get the rest of the chapters either...)

But then, Mothers Day is coming, so if I did make any money now it would go towards this. [link]

My mom loved vampires before they were cool (I cringe as I say that phrase).

She likes occult stuff. Horror movies, old-school movie monsters - she's like a "goth-lite". She wears some black, and she's pale, but she doesn't really do it on purpose. So when I saw the necklace I thought it'd be something she'd get a kick out of for Mothers Day. Now if I can just pay for it x_x

Well, if she's of my generation, she was probably into Barnabas Collins (AKA Dark Shadows).

Maybe this will help then - just picked up a bunch of prints from your prints page!

You mean... you bought some of my prints? o_o

*runs to check!*

... perhaps it's delayed? It doesn't say that anything has been purchased. :< Or am I misunderstanding you?

Bought and paid for

It takes a day or two to show up. (Of course, with dA's system, my luck would be that they don't report purchases until the end of the quarter.)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ARK!!!

T___T Thank you. You really didn't have to, but I appreciate it so much! You're the first person to do so... EVER. On DA or otherwise!

I... I'm gunna go have a good cry now! Thank you!

Yes I did - besides, you deserve it! Get your momma a Momma's Day set o'choppers!

I've been meaning to pick up a few Pandora pics anyway! Keep me advised on how they pay - they have that weird cash or points system now, and that can be a bit odd indeed.

Thank you so much.

And actually, since none of my prints had been selling I wasn't really paying attention to it... I've promised myself now though that I'm gunna properly go through what I have available, cull the stupid, impulse prints and learn the system. I understand the basics, but like you said they have a point system and such now... So I'll look into it.

Umm - I did a bunch of coffee cups and mugs a few years ago, and the only ones sold were to ME... SIGH!

(Ya don't get paid fer buyin' yer own stuff!)

Ah well! I bought some of Shadsie's (the Mrs') prints and a puzzle or two a few years ago, but I'm not sure if she ever got paid for it. I'm going to have to find out.

According to what I've looked up so far, artists who have sold prints only receive any profits they made at the end of each quarter (in this case, nothing will be moved to my Palpal account until about June 30th I think). You also don't see ANY money if you haven't made at least $20 (whatever you have is carried over to the next quarter until you eventually make enough).

I don't like how I sound explaining this, so I'll just give you a link to the FAQ. FAQ #123: How and when will I receive my profits?

The point system seems kind of silly in my opinion... it's like having fragments of a gift card. You have to buy them with real money, and you can give them to people in whatever quantity you want, but you can only really USE them for DA related stuff such as a T-shirts and subscriptions. I guess you can also buy prints with them, but then where does that leave the artist? It's like paying the bills with a gift card to Home Depot.

Anyway, I'm still looking into everything. As soon as your prints have been cleared (I still don't see any notifications yet) I'm gunna do some spring cleaning.

No prob - should'a done it sooner, then you could have had some cash in hand - oh well - At least I can let you know how the quality is these days. I remember the prints of Shadsie's I got were not the best that could have been made. One came out incredibly dark while the other was trimmed badly by the printer.

Let's chalk this one up as a quality check

It's not all bad though. They did just revamp their printing prices very recently so that it not only costs them less to make the prints (which means less of a base price for each type of print), but now artists get 100% of whatever they make (before DA used to not only charge for the cost to make each print, but they also took a percentage of whatever you chose to charge). So if the base is $1 and I set the print at $15, I get to make $14. At least, this is my basic understanding of what happens.

I hope they come out alright.
