you have no idea. It is TOTALLY a language! people who don't speak it and don't realize its a language of its self, don't understand. They cant.

No, it's communication. A specific kind of communication. If the author intended for it not to be symbolic, why would they bother going through lengths to describe the language in abstract ways,-oh wait, that's right, it's a poem, a literary device used to communicate an abstract point often though metaphor, simile, or symbolism like using language to represent the barrier between straight ignorant people, and open gay people, like the barrier between people when they speak oh holy shit, two different languages.... *facepalm* Did you skip grade school? -particularly English analysis?

Hey,
i like this, it's great! and to whoever didn't like it because it's about us 'speeking a different language' the way i read it wasn't that it was trying to create a wall between lesbians and the rest of the world, it was more aknowledging the differences and the way other people feel about lesbianism...anyway, yeah, i think its great =]

i'm gay and i didnt like this. it seems so... we speek a language now? if it's just normal and not as big a deal as its made out to be, which i believe it is, isnt saying we speek another language kind of helping them believe we're so different?

Wow. What a beautiful concept. You captured it perfectly. And you're right - it is sort of a language, a feeling...
Very, VERY good job.

I too speak this language, I believe my father does too, but he won't admit to it, as it would kill my mother.

"More power to you, what the world needs more of are homosexuals. Too many straight people in the US."
what is wrong with us the straight ones? were your dad & mom straight or not? it has nothing to do with the success of the world. same as I have nothing against homosexuals, you shouldn't blame straight for all bad things that happen cuz that's discrimination

It sounds like backwards thinking to me. Whoever said that, well, they are as ignorant as the people they are talking about as they are hypocrites for being like the people they are talking about by saying it. However, to be fair, whoever said that likely DID NOT have parents that understood them so that is where the teen angst is coming from. Hard to blame them. Most teens don't feel ANYONE understands them, can't imagine being someone who legitimately isn't understood though.
That said, they'll either grow up and mature (I'd hope) or just be one of those jackasses who fucks it up for everyone, and being that they are gay, they're going to fuck shit up for other gay people. It's been about 8 years since this comment, so lets hope not. XD
