Amazing, and I still can't believe how people can colour stuff this well.
How do you even start on colouring a sketch if you want to make it look like this? Needless to say, I'm terrible at it and I have no idea what to do.

A solid grasp of layers and how they work. It starts out very simple and builds up. Sketch layer, ink layer, remove sketch layer, do the coloring under the ink layer, and various shading/effects layers. Just build up each part as you go. At least for me, more layers means easier editing if I want to change something easily. You can see in my gallery how I progressed with digital coloring over the years. :3
