...I thought it really dodgy that she fied off stage
Like she was somewhat important to the plot but she died a seemingly disinteresting death
I remember that there was this criticism of hamlet
THat she went mad and died because she "needed" a male figure being there
Her brother and her father, and so on
and as soon as that dissapeared she went mad and died.
It was a femenist view I think, and they weren't happy about Opehlia in general
Their view was that Opehila was too weak a character, relying on these males to amke decisions for her
as was custom in those times, and thus label Shakespeare a Misogynist
There was many viewpoint s but I'm being too sketchy here XD

She relied on them too much
I mean her father told her not to see hamlet who she loved and she was like
Ok
That's why that was her flaw, her trust in them to deliver
And when they didn't
She crumbled
