These are all really cool ! You're fantastic at drawing eyes in general, and nice fluffy hairstyles. Looking at all the OCs together though, I notice a couple things-- A lot them have pretty much the same face/cheekbone/chin shape, as well as the same eyebrow thickness and shapes, and ALL of them have the exact same nose .Also, all but two have the same hairline at the same sort of distance and general shape. The hairSTYLES are really cool, but they seem to be the only thing really differentiating each character. Plus five out of 8 seem to have blue eyes?
I am interested in more about the vampire bois, they look neat. Lucian's hair, especially, is real neat.Β

i mean, you are not my customer or something, and this is not my work but original art which i draw for me and my friend and we do it just for... fun? i agree with you that i have "favorite types" of face but i absolutely disagree that they cannot be distinguished (especially at your point about noses). i'm not a caricaturist, so i don't aspire and don't want to make the facial features of the characters more rigid just because someone don't see difference. the same with eyes - there are 4 characters with blue eyes, 2 characters with gray, 1 with brown and 1 with dark red - i just used a limited palette here. but even if all 8 characters had blue eyes, why should me and my co-author change them only to prove their originality? these are strange claims for me.

I'm throwing in an observation of what is an all-around good style-- I only thought to mention this particular aspect of same-face syndrome because I only just noticed it from this deviation, since it is so many characters together. -w- I'm not out to attack you on this, I'm throwing it out as a fellow artist who always strives for improvement and changes, that's all! 
Of course character features are entirely your choice and should be up to fun. I threw out the observation because same-face syndrome is really easy to just...not realize as a habit we artists fall really easily into. Perhaps now you see it, perhaps you don't mind. Either way, it's an observation to either muse on and try some new things because of, or ignore at your whim.Β

as i said earlier, i disagree with you in many points and also i'm ok with my favorite face types that i use. you are free to think that this is my inability/unwillingness/laziness and whatever you want, or call it same-face syndrome, but this will not change the situation. fortunately, i have people with whom i consult about my works and their experience and opinion are important to me. so letβs have respect for everyone to do their own art and not make claims.

And why would I do that?
If one is not open to critiques, they can just mention on their front page as such, or alternatively post art to a less feedback-oriented site like twitter or otherwise.

oh, i think you will be surprised, but my work is not in the βcriticismβ section of this site. or am i missing something? because this section really exists.
i didnβt think that i need to explain it, because i grew up in a rather rude and tough art community, but now itβs a polite tone to ask about criticism before giving it. no offense, but i will listen to any criticism from a person whose work is an example to me and whose experience speaks for itself. but itβs funny that such people never come to criticize and advise first, and even if they want to help do something better, they will first ask about it. just because itβs the rules of courtesy. iβll also remind you that your criticism had such dubious things as βyour characters have blue eyesβ. this is not criticism, it is your preference. that's all.
