RE-UPLOADED 5/15/10
I made some of the chang es thatyou suggested.
I'm entering this in #WarriorCatsClaim's contest for a picture of a death scene, or something like that... idk
If I can im going to try to make this a speed paint, I just need to know how to download files from Ustream, so if you know please tell me.
This took well over three hours to make... This is where Brambleclaw kills Hawkfrost.

Hey there!
Haven't critiqued in a while, so I hope this is okay.
Firstly, the background. The colors are amazing! They really work to add a more dramatic feel to the picture. And despite the contrast of the colours of the sky and the water, they actually look pretty good together. The reflection on the lake is really well done too.
The texture on the trees and leaves is brilliant! It's one of my favourite parts of the piece.
It's great how you add the shadows of the leaves on the grass and on the cats too!
All I can suggest for the background is to add some more detail to the sand, it looks too flat. The roots of the trees also stand out. Maybe you could try blending them into the grass a little?
Onto the cats:
Hawkfrost's expression is perfect. Suprised and fearful. The character design is cool too! Complex, but amazing. The two front paws are really good, but the two back paws look a little odd, especially the one that's showing. It could use a little bit more detail.
The shading and highlighting is really good. Accurate too. But the blood stand out a lot in some places, and doesn't look like PART of the character. But the gush and flow (Okay, that sounds weird.)is perfect. The blood on the grass could use some more shading though. But the fact that you added blood on the grass is already a pretty good point. Lots of people tend to forget that the blood doesn't just disappear.
Brambleclaw up at the front is really good too. And I love the way that he's a tad blurred. It makes Hawkfrost stick out more. All I can say is that his cheek fur doesn't seem balances. Like, one is bigger than the other. And I think he should be shaded a bit more, since he's deeper into the forest. (But that's just me.)
Anyway, all in all this a brilliant picture. Really, REALLY good. It's dramatic, and bold with a great balance of colors.

What can I do to more detail the sand?

I've never done this for sand, but you try going Filter>Sketch>Grapihc pen, to give it a grainy look. Or just add a few brown dots here or there.
FFFT, It was the size of the version I was looking at X'DD It had looked like you didnt define his 'toes'. But I think if you added little claws, it would help (since that foot is darker then the others)

WELL, it is a lot LESS work to make one picture like this rather than to make a whole animation that takes me months. Plus I have a little bit of a life and this great fun thing called school and homework and this even BETTER thing called procrastination. It's pretty awesome B)

Its awesome, Though I have this strong feeling like if a throat was slit (and this is just me) that the head would have a tilt as if to acknowlege the difference. idk if you get what i mean... Like if my throat was cut i feel like i would look slightly down or lean forward because of the trauma, especially since the blood is flowing so quickly.

I CAN HAS CRITIQUE?!
Okay so first the cats. The lineart for Hawkfrost looks a tiny bit sketchy when it comes to the fur, you might wanna erase the few extra random lines that stick out. Where his nech is bleeding, it would be a bit more realistic if he had some blood sputing from his neck, afterall he did have a main artery cut. Alos, the blood should be a bit darker in shade, it looks a bit flourecent. I really like how you did the shodow of the trees on the cats and the ground, it makes it looks more 3-dimensional. Personally, I hate it when people give warrior cats unrealistic makings, but thats just me. x3
ON TO THE BACKGROUND
I really love how you did the reflection of the sky on the water. Idk i just really love the lake.... I would've added more detail to the sand though, it looks just kinda flat like, the rest looks 3 dimensional, but the sand is just flat. You might want to take away those little stray leaves when using the leaf brush. You know, the ones that are just kinda floating in mid-air.Personally, I hate the leaf brush, It looks kindof funny to me....idk xD
But I do really like this picture. It really captures the emotion of the scene. GOOD JOB MAH GANGSTA PAL~

um, I made the design of the cats, but i kept in mind the basic things about the cats.... personally I really like the designs of the Warrior cats that i use...
