Description The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Psalm 145:18

The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him,.... He is not only nigh unto them in relation, being their near kinsman, brother, father, husband, and head, but with respect to place and presence; not in a general way, as he is the omnipresent God, and so nigh to all, and from whose presence there is no fleeing; but in a special way.

You speak of the world like only one who doesn't belong to it does. I have only ever known Christians to really understand it...except for myself in the years before I became one. I was agnostic as well, torn between God's calling and the world which tried to force me to be an atheist.

Well maybe it's true. I never felt like I belonged anywhere. And every time I gave in to God's call -or so I believe it has to be- I'd happily try, happily let it wash over me, until someone's hand pulls me back and I get lost again. I think it happened 4 times now?

This life, is just scaring me beyond words. People, scare me beyond words.
I even started to feel scared of the words that are in the Bible, so I am between the two and unable to know what is the truth or not, even my heart can't tell me anymore which way to go.
This is just sad, and right now my life is at its most critical point. I am exposed, I am completely naive and confused and people take huge advantage of me, and I find no shelter anywhere.
I'm just feeling like I shouldn't even be here, or so it is how people make me feel more and more. ^^"

Hey, for what its worth, I'm a LaVeyan Satanist and I think this is cute.
People who say 'typography isn't art' need to be quiet. If you think this didn't deserve a DD because it's easy to make typography, I challenge you to try making something even better than this.
If you can't, then keep your anti-religious nonsense in your pocket.

April 17, 2001, Sydney, Australia - Beset by suicidal urges brought on by my inadvertent discovery of my wife's affair, I helplessly called out in Arabic to Allah to help me. I waited. I waited. Nothing. Finally I rose from my knees and woke my friends with whom I was staying. Sobbing like a baby, I whined, "Please help me." They rose, man and wife, from their bed, took me to the couch, sat me down, and began: "Father God..." "Oh, brother," I thought, but I was in too much agony to protest. What they said after that I do not know other than the final words: "In the Name of Jesus." And I was better. There was no more pain. I went to sleep and rose in the morning to walk out on the same mountain balcony off which I was tempted to throw myself a scant seven hours earlier. I could see the sun rising over the Pacific Ocean.
I heard a Voice say, "The wife will go. The job will go. The children will go. The house will go." Suddenly, an ecstatic, psychotropic, euphoric waterfall of Love, joy, and fearlessness rushed over and through me for I don't know how long. I was in Eternity. "I Am yours, and you are Mine," He said. Though I did not know why, He told me to be baptized. Within three weeks all that I once had was gone, just like He said. It's been thirteen years, and it only gets better.
Not religion. Jesus/Y'shua.
That is the Name of Peace on tap, of Instant Epiphany, of the Great Teacher, of the Love of God, of the Light to the Gentiles, and the God of Israel, may His Name be praised forever!
Keep on spreading the word, mostpato.

The internet is a scary place for Christians. Most people translate "I'm a christian" as "I believe in a magical sky man who makes natural disasters." It's nice to see some christian art for sure. reminds us we aren't really alone here.

>The internet is a scary place for Christians.

Well, considering the internet is the only place where people who are regularly oppressed by Christians can vent, it's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy, isn't it?

At least Christians don't have to fear being beaten for being Christian online, whereas LGBT people like myself, both online and irl, fear doxxing and abuse regularly.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Grizno In reply to GlassBottleDemon [2014-08-26 03:56:59 +0000 UTC]

homophobia and Christianity are not synonymous you know. And you are generalizing. That's like me saying all LGBT people are social outcasts that flaunt their sexuality every chance they get. besides Christians aren't the only ones who oppress. In fact people without a solid moral code like Christians make even better oppressors. Often my opinions will be dismissed by my atheist peers simply because I believe in a "guy in the sky." I don't recall ever opressing/threatening you because of your sexuality but obviously others have. My LGBT friends don't mind my religious beliefs but you seem to hold some sort of grudge against someone you've never met. you see where I'm going with this? every group has its good and bad members. You don't get permission to oppress others just because you are oppressed. If this was accepted then the world would be filled with people oppressing each other (some might say that is the world we live in now). So I hope you will change your attitude rather than living a life filled with hate and negativity toward people that really don't deserve it.

GlassBottleDemon In reply to Grizno [2014-08-26 04:57:09 +0000 UTC]

>homophobia and Christianity are not synonymous you know.

I never said they were.

>You don't get permission to oppress others just because you are oppressed.

Except I never did.

I never attacked or said anything about you specifically, so kindly don't twist my words. I have no negativity towards you or any Christian.

All I did was point out that saying 'the internet is a scary place for Christians' is like a king commenting that he feels uncomfortable overhearing the maids talking about how he has a big nose. Its a false equivalence. A few comments about Christians on the internet do not make it a 'scary place'.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Grizno In reply to GlassBottleDemon [2014-08-26 05:27:46 +0000 UTC]

>homophobia and Christianity are not synonymous you know.

fair enough you didn't actually say that, but according to this statement "At least Christians don't have to fear being beaten for being Christian online" implies you (or other LGBT people) have a fear of this. And while it's true no physical harm will come there's still a possibility for verbal abuse. which is still a severe form of abuse

>>You don't get permission to oppress others just because you are oppressed.

>Except I never did.

I suppose not but you did seem a tad passive aggressive. and that statement was made in response to this one "the internet is the only place where people who are regularly oppressed by Christians can vent." So i stand by my original statement. Those who are oppressed do not then have permission to oppress.

>I have no negativity towards you or any Christian.

tone of voice is difficult to interpret sometimes in text posts but your original comment did convey a certain distaste toward Christians.

>Its a false equivalence.

I would say no, there is some equivalence. Verbal abuse can be just as effective as physical abuse (ask anyone who went to middle school). I find often times Christians are unwelcome in many forums (sorry I don't have any examples to cite). and this isn't always petty insults, sometimes its rage and hate, making someone feel so unwelcome that an entire group is alienated. also I'm not talking about petty gossip. to continue on your "King" analogy; i feel it would be more like the maids are saying the king is an idiot and a terrible ruler and should never have been given the crown. also I dislike this analogy because it equates Christians to a King which in America has several negative connotations such as greediness, selfishness, gluttony, and incompetence.

> kindly don't twist my words

I only interpreted based on what you were writing and the tone I perceived and responding to them as such.  also you shouldn't use this phrase as debating often requires challenging someones statements. If they conveyed a message you did not intend then you have the opportunity to amend them to convey your actual message/idea.

God’s absence is no more the origin of all observable existence (t)here on Earth and beyond than nothing(ness) is the very origin of existence. I am not religious, but I am beyond mere belief in an eternal God /¯ yours to decide is or is not a being or thing of energy (label you will like religions have and science continues to do [all relates to the same entity, that which is God, except under uglier names in science]) _/ that or who is eternal energy (Life's origin) that makes all things matter (pun intended), an existence without age, an existence without time's numbers, an existence without a beginning nor end, and an existence that coexists with infinity (the Omniverse) beyond all universes beyond our universe, a region of no specific geometric shape whose achromatic space is as it is: NOTHING, sans darkness, sans light, sans all forms of supposed and identified energy and matter. That is God in the rawest form under no other name minus the archaic religious politics that divide our world. And ifsoever it is proved God is not a being or thing of energy, then God is an inanimate object, and all opposites of these said words prove accurate.

With that just said in mind, thank you mostpato for submitting this piece of work to remind this blind world there is a God under far too many unnecessary names than need be.

Amen

I love this <3 QuQ beautiful job
just ignore all the people complaining about this :/

Personally as a Christian, I know really there's going to be people that believe and don't believe, but I don't like the fact that people here are getting all upset over this. If they don't believe it, fine but that doesn't mean they have to bring it on and on and on I mean come on :/ I mean when I see something that goes against my beliefs I just move on with whatever I was doing, I don't make any mean remarks or anything man

And I don't judge anyone for being a believer or not. I have atheist friends too, and I respect them :/ And I treat gay/bisexual/etc. people like I would any other person, they're still people so I disapprove of how other Christians may treat them, but not all do that.  So when I look at the other comments about being "gay hating" and all that good stuff, to me its just like

ok then

so much for tolerance :/ gosh just chill and go on people
You see people saying Christians are plain rude and whatever

then you look at the comments people put here that don't approve of the message and its like
oh
Christians aren't the only rude people on this planet

and regardless of the religion a dd is based of, it should be allowed :/ I don't get why people are saying this shouldn't be a dd just because its religious,
people are diverse, and art is based off you're personal feelings, and if its related to religion, you should be able to be eligible for a dd regardless of it.

What are people gonna do, suppress your expression just to make you eligible for a dd?

haters gonna hate though anyways man, just ignore them

well anyways God bless you and congrats on the DD man

It's enough to ruin a person's day and hurt someone. No one deserves to be hurt. If you have a harmful opinion and don't like what is featured before you, just leave. All the insults, name calling, belief bashing, feature hate- is all unnecessary.

Looking beyond the message, we simply see bright colour and pretty text. We do not like how religions here praise invisible gods, especially one based on a two-thousand year-old book, and we did not think much of typography as a form of art.

Typography is a type of art. Perhaps not illustrative or like photomanipulation, but similar to sculpting or graphic design it is a type of art. Typography is similar to calligraphy except done digitally, which in all honestly is probably just  as impressive if not more so. The poster is done in manipulating both words and color to present an appealing design with the message it contains. So I agree with you that art is the only thing that should be getting a daily deviation, and this piece of art is well deserving of it

Considering you just joined this week, and you have no avatar nor deviations to speak of - I do not think you are in a position to criticize anyone's work might I add.
