Description My fishy!! I think I started this on July 17th of 2004, and, huh, just finished it in the last two days! I tried to represent the color of his rocks at the bottom and his plant.

He has been my betta since July 16 at approximately 4 P.M. I got him as a birthday present and is the most successful fish I've ever known (bad experiance with gold fish at the age of 4). Anywho, hope you enjoy!!

Edit: Basil Stag Hare tragically passed away on September 9th, 2006 at about 9:30 PM. He lived to be almost three years old, and was with me for over two years. I miss him horribly, but I really touched my life. I'm so grateful for the time we had together, and how strongly I was able to love him.

Wow that is a very beautiful drawing. I resently just got a betta and they are so beautiful i want to draw him also. Great job on it. I do love how you have the colors that way.

I am amazed by this piece in general, but what really floored me was a tiny aspect of this piece: the tiny transparent pectoral fin. You can still see the plant through the skin...just amazing. What technique! Fav'd!

Basil is a betta fish. I can't name the specific species or name of his color mutation, but I hope to have words for it soon. Glad you like it!

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. This looks like somthing off of one of those Chinese screens. The colors are so amazing on the fish. Did you use watercolor? Please tell me you used watercolor. I would just die of amazement (not to mention jealousy) if you used anything else.

I had a fighting fish, named Bubbles. He looked kind of like your fishy. He was purply and red. but he died...
But the scales are very defined, this is beautiful! Very realistic, your getting extremly good! -dies-

You had a goldfish? WoW! I never knew ... they don't seem to last very long unless they are under the care of Jen Kouri. Golly, I sure hope Mittens is alright where ever he is. I like to imagine he found a family somewhere .... probably not as good as yours, though ...
