I like this unicorn version better than that of the film's! How often do you use a ruler with a drawing like this? It seems like all your lines are so straight and perfect. Do you start from a general outline first or do you draw it as it is from the start?

I did not use a ruler in this drawing. Where would you use a ruler in here, there are no sraight edges, I don't think?

I start with general outlines (usually) then darken it.

I LOVE that film! I heard they're re-making it. But you ANNOT beat the original!

Beautiful work!

Thanx for the fave!!

ARG!!! They WERE making a new one, but from what I know, it's been cancelled, or at least been put on hold indefinately. There have been several rumors as to why it stopped. One of them was because of the way they were making the unicorn. At first, they were just using horses and were going to CGI in the horn. But this was the focal point of A LOT of critism (as it should have been) because the Unicorn is described to look nothing like a horse. Only a complete CGI could duplicate what Peter S Beagle was trying to describe

That's true.

Ugh, I hope they don't end up re-making it. I love the animated version too much.

Haha, it's one of those movies people remember seeing when they were microscopically small.

Glad you like the pic!

Haha, I realized how .... uh ... creepy .... it is too! But also in watching it again, I realized that no child under 16 could really understand that movie.

Thanks for the fave!

I absolutely adored the movie when I was younger. That's the only reason why I have a unicorn poster in my room....

Have you ever seen Never Ending Story perhaps? The cartoon series?

Anyways, the shading is terrific and the hair looks very soft. I'm envious of your ability to draw animals!

Ahh, you are so sweet! That was my favorite movie when I was four. Then I went through a pahse where I wasn't sure about it. But when I watched it again I realized that it is NOT a little kids movie. Most people think it is because it's about a unicorn, but you really need to be an adult to understand it on a deeper level.

I have seen the Never Ending Story! But a cartoon series? No, I've only seen the film version

Yeah. I re-watched it for old time's sake probably a few months ago and I realized the story is way more deeper and complex than I remembered. For goodness sakes though... I was only like 6 I think the last time I watched it and I was like, "Pretty artwork! *hollow headed*"

I was absolutely in LOVE with the Never Ending Story cartoon series about the time I liked The Last Unicorn. They went hand and hand. The movie scared me when I was little. ^^
