A photographed sketch of a comic I fully intend to ink. Someday. Anyway, storytime!

So at the Constitutional Convention, Gouveneur Morris was talking to his friend Alexander Hamilton (he's the one who looks like an unreasonable facsimile of Lin Manuel Miranda) about the aloofness of George Washington. He said that he didn't think Washington was as impersonal as everyone said. He bet Hamilton that he could go up to Washington, clap a hand on his shoulder, and say, "My dear general, how pleased I am that you're looking so well!" Hamilton turned it into a dare and promised to buy Morris a dinner if he did it. Hilarity ensued, and Morris immediately regretted his actions. He wrote in his journal later that he got the most withering, frigid glare from Washington that he wished the floor would open up and just swallow him. And that it wasn't worth the free dinner. Hamilton disagrees.

Tried to make Madison look like he's several yards in the background; it didn't work.
