The composition has an interesting off-kilter to it, but it isn't quite right. You're definitely going somewhere with the angle, tilt, and distribution of the characters at different distances on the plane, it just need some work. Zoro is an odd distance from the border, the hand on his hip should either be not visible or a bit more visible, and he looks somewhat 2-dimensional compared to Luffy. The framing I find interesting (in a good way) because it looks like Luffy is bending over because he is boxed in by the size of the image, as in he's actually interacting/acknowledging the border (like a breaking down the 4th wall type thing). I like it :]
I really like the mood in this image and how you presented this serious side of Luffy. The style is realistic compared to how he's usually illustrated, and there's very natural, human emotion in his expression and posture. Reminds me of a photograph except for Zoro's pose, which looks more detached/staged.
Overall I like it :]

Ah, thank you for such a thoughtful comment, really, it's such a rarity in this community. I'm glad to get a critique from a like-minded artist.
The terrible perspective and stiffness in Zoro's pose is a result of adding him as an after thought, and the neglect is quite apparent. I think at the time I wanted Luffy to interact more with the background or find some way to incorporate the background so it's not just a backdrop for Luffy to stand in. So the easy answer was add another character to it. I think I'll revisit this again sometime in the future. Anyway, yes, your observation really helped, thank you very much again for taking the time to write it out for me, I love the way you digested it! : )

Beautiful! But it could be better without zorro I think he ruins the composition - you need something in the background but the solid black of zorro looks displaced ~

The name of this great artwork reminded me of a great sacrifice Zoro did for Luffy. Have you seen through where Kuma made their conscious crewmembers the alta-matum?(I know I spelled that wrong.

Nice take on what was implied in the title. I have something darker in mind when I picked it, that is, Zoro's loyalty being in question from what's happening in the picture. I don't know if it means they're just 'sparring' or fighting man to man- but it spoke that kind of atmosphere to me after I was finished.

Zoro's possibly one of the most loyal and upstanding of the crew I'd say, and I'd describe him as more 'watching his back with some serious intent' xD;
Plus he's been there pretty much from the very start ^^
Though for what you were thinking, Ussopp may be a good choice because of what happened in Water 7.

Hmm, I agree with the last statement. I guess I like to imagine there's tension there despite knowing Zoro is the 'most loyal' being the first mate and all. I think I like the notion of a tragic/ultimate betrayal, though I know Zoro will never betray Luffy or be cunning enough to pretend he is XD like what Robin did.

If Zoro did try and betray Luffy, the chances of him actually finding Luffy are very small, going by his sense of direction XD

I can't believe how gorgeous this is D: The shading on the skin and how it looks like real paint, and OMG that hat is amazing *_____* I love the texture on it, straw is such a hard material to paint properly... Luffy looks hot in blue aswell ;D *is shot for inapropriate comment* and Zoro...man don't even get me started on him~ No editting neccasary.
