Doodled up a pipe fox and I figured it would be a good time to practice my painting! Would appreciate any critique from my painter mutual watchers, as I'm really trying to improve in this area!I might make some flatsale adopts out of these, but I figure that'll take me a hella-long time anyways so, going ahead and putting this first try up.
I did start to see where people were coming from that painting these little details can be relaxing. It was relaxing / fun to me, which was a nice change of pace.

This is so beautiful, I just love the colour scheme and it looks so serene. You are so good at lines and motion and stuff, if that makes any sense? I just love your style, it has such a natural flow to it.

How nice! I don't see many pipe foxes. I saw one in xxxHolic and then saw yours, which made me go to Wikipedia - I didn't realize it was an actual mythological creature, which makes it much neater! I love it when people pick up and use the forgotten ones.

Thank you! Yeah they're a pretty obscure mythological creature. I actually only know about them because they're in Okami, but I like the idea a lot.

Your painting style is absolutely lovely! It's so beautifully simple, and the way you softly gradient colours is wonderful.
I maybe would suggest a little more contrast? Merely applying a contrast filter right at the end seems to work just fine for me - it isn't any major problem though, I find it just helps a lot with really making the shading pop~

ooh, i really love this! it looks so soft and dreamy *<*
the only real nitpick i have is that it's a bit low-contrast? at a glance, it's a bit hard to pinpoint the light source. maybe a bit more of the highlight colour along the back or on the tail would help draw the eye. then again, that might just be due to the subject matter, haha.
either way, really nice! i'll be eagerly watching for more of your painting stuff in the future :D

Thank you for the advice! I agree the contrast is a bit low... I kinda wonder if I made the outline around it too bright and that is hurting it? Either way thanks! I will try to tweak this one / get more contrast on the next one I do.
